Pete’s training debut is just ahead

It has been a great learning experience living with and training Pete, Nature’s Nursery’s program Blue Jay. His debut is this Saturday at our first raptor/avian fundraiser called “Meet the Flockers”.
He’s taught me many things Blue Jay from caching peas in my shirt, nuts in my hair, tissue in my ear, and blueberries in my carpet. This little guy has taught me to have a keen eye and a new found appreciation for the call of the Blue Jays I hear outside of my house.
As of this Saturday, I will be taking him back to Nature’s Nursery for his debut to the public and there he will remain. My house will miss his morning songs, afternoon sunbathing, and evenings of watching him sit on the back of the chair watching the sun go down out the front window.
Thanks for teaching me Pete, and thanks for teaching all of those who come in contact with you.

Its a big world out there Pete - Pete on the ground looking up at Rico in his cage in the aviary.

Pete will thrill everyone at his meet-n-greet.(a Pete-n-Greet?) You’ve done a great job with him Lara. Give him one more peanut for me. I know you’re going to miss him!

Lara, I never got to meet Pete, but feel as though I know him through your writings about him. I have learned so much, thank you. I know you will miss Pete, but he will provide so much to educate others and that is all due to your training. Good luck on Saturday, I know it will be great! Wish I could be there….

Thanks Jeannie. Soon you will be able to meet Pete.

Katie, love the Pete-n-Greet. I may mention that on Saturday and give you recognition for it.

NN’s most lovely and hardworking Paula is the one that came up with the name. Laura and Paula at NN have been really working hard behind the scenes in helping put this together. It’s been a lot of fun and can’t believe its almost here.
